Sweden has had mandatory sex education in schools for over 60 years. But knowledge about the body, emotions and sexuality are not available to all. The teaching materials available for people with cognitive disabilities requires a teacher or a parent to help and are not particularly suited for the target group.
USER TESTING | INTERACTION
Through a number of user tests with the target group and with the methods of user centered design – the purpose was to create information that was informative, easy and personally designed. We developed the world's first digital, interactive tool, where the youth gets to learn about sex and relationships on their own – the app Privatliv.
ITERATION | ACCESSIBILITY
The iterative process – prototyping and user testing – ensured that the orientation and interaction fit the target audience, but also gave ideas for new features that could be implemented further, such as that of the beatbox which is implemented in Several chapters of the app. The Privatliv app not only makes knowledge available – it also gives all people the right to a private life.
